About & disclosures
SepticCheck WA is a thin set of Washington septic O&M county checklists. Plain language. Official health-department links. County rules gate self-inspect.
What this site is
Homeowner-oriented checklists for:
- Pierce County
- King County
- Thurston County
- Kitsap County
- Snohomish County
- Whatcom County
- Optional gear checklist (Amazon placeholders)
Intervals and self-inspect rules are re-checked against live county / DOH pages. Each public page shows a Last checked banner. Re-verify before you schedule work or buy gear.
Affiliate disclosure (FTC)
SepticCheck WA may earn a commission if you buy through links on this site. That does not change the price you pay. Product links on the gear page are placeholders (href="#" labeled “affiliate link TBD”) until an Amazon Associates account is approved and filled in. We do not invent ASINs, prices, or commission rates.
Not affiliated with DOH or counties
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Washington State Department of Health, OnlineRME, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, Public Health — Seattle & King County, Thurston County Public Health, Kitsap Public Health District, Snohomish County Health Department, Whatcom County Health and Community Services, WOSSA, or any other agency. Always follow the live LHJ page and any licensed professional they require.
Hire licensed when required — no illegal DIY
These pages are homeowner checklists, not engineering advice and not a substitute for county authorization. Do not inspect or report as a homeowner unless your county’s program says you may (often after training/certification). When the LHJ requires a certified O&M specialist, maintainer, or pumper — hire one from their certified list. Pumping is not the same as an inspection. Opening tanks has safety risks; follow LHJ safety guidance.
Verify with your local health jurisdiction
State WAC baselines can be tightened locally. Marine recovery areas, proprietary products, food-service systems, and property transfers often have stricter rules. Treat every county official URL as source of truth.
Independent site
SepticCheck WA is a separate project. It is not Haven, HavenRent, litehousestaging, Charger Checklist, or any related brand. Do not treat this site as part of those properties.
Contact / corrections
If a county interval, portal, or training link drifts, treat the official LHJ URL as source of truth. Update the checklist and the “Last checked” date before relying on this workshop copy.
